Pairing your watch and viewing your workouts are different tasks.
Swimiyo does not make Apple Watch a fully paired Android accessory. Android notifications, calls and system companion features are outside its scope. It gives your recorded swim workouts a route to an Android app.
Apple Watch → choose and upload a swim → your Swimiyo account → review on Android.
For Apple Watch setup and standalone features, check Apple’s guide to using your watch without an iPhone nearby. “Without your iPhone nearby” does not mean an iPhone is never needed.
What you need before you start
- An Apple Watch running watchOS 11 or later.
- An Android phone running Android 9 or later.
- A compatible iPhone for initial watch setup and Watch companion installation.
- The Swimiyo Android app and Watch companion, installed separately when release links become available.
- Internet access on both devices for account connection and uploads. The watch uses Wi-Fi or supported cellular.
Do not reset or unpair a working watch just to try an Android app. Resetting or re-pairing can require an iPhone again.
How to bring Apple Watch swim workouts to Android
- Set up the watch using an iPhone.
Install the Watch companion and allow it to read your workout data.
- Connect your Swimiyo account.
Sign in on Android and scan the connection code shown on the watch. Keep the code private.
- Choose a swim and upload it.
Record your swim on Apple Watch, then open the Watch companion, choose the workout and start the upload.
- Refresh your workouts on Android.
Use the same account. Once the upload completes, open the workout to review its details.
Uploads are started by you. Completing a workout on Apple Watch alone does not automatically send it to Android.
See more than a workout total.
Review your workout calendar and recorded length details, including pace, heart rate and stroke count where available. Compare two workouts to see how the recorded pace differs.
The side-by-side replay simulates progress from length data. It is not video footage, a GPS track or a measurement of swimming technique.
Choose a viewing workflow
Choose by data source, access to an iPhone and the swim detail you need. This is not a controlled product benchmark. Other products’ length-comparison and replay capabilities have not been verified here; unknown does not mean unsupported.
| Workflow | iPhone and data route | Useful when | Check first |
|---|---|---|---|
| Swimiyo | Use a compatible iPhone for watch setup and companion installation; upload from the watch → view with the same account on Android. | You want length details, two-workout comparison and simulated replay on Android. | Public downloads are not open yet; check requirements and historical test limits. |
| Strava + Apple Health | Connect Apple Health in Strava on iPhone; import native Apple Workout activities and view synced activities in your Strava account. | You still have an iPhone and want native Workout activities in Strava. | This import route supports native Apple Workout activities from the past 30 days; third-party activities written to Health cannot sync through it. [1] |
| HealthFit + files or a destination service | Read Apple Health on iPhone / iPad; export FIT, GPX, CSV or sync to a listed service. | You want export files or a different analysis platform. | Android viewing and retained swim details depend on the destination service or file reader; do not assume equivalent comparison or replay. If you need an app today, check current availability with each provider; Swimiyo is still before public downloads. An Android phone alone cannot complete the initial Apple Watch setup described here.

Before you switch phones
Will I need the iPhone every day?
Not for everyday Swimiyo uploads after setup: the watch uploads using its own internet connection. Keep the initial setup and future watch management requirements in mind.
Does this sync all Apple Health data?
No. This workflow is for swim workouts supported by Swimiyo. It is not a general Apple Health migration tool.
Can I review workouts offline?
Cached workout details can be viewed offline. New uploads, account actions and fetching new workouts require internet access.
What if a workout is missing?
Check workout permissions, the watch’s internet connection, upload completion and the account used on Android. See help and troubleshooting.
